Bigfoot TX - Barndominium Hunting Retreat

This project was a custom barndominium build in Bigfoot, TX designed specifically as a personal hunting retreat. The client wanted a low-maintenance metal building with interior living comfort — something durable enough for ranch use, but finished well enough to host family, guests, and hunting parties.

This build features a Mueller metal building footprint of 90’ x 40’ x 14’ with a 3/12 pitch and two massive 15’ x 90’ lean-to’s — creating shaded outdoor space perfect for skinning, processing, gathering, or simply relaxing out of the South Texas sun. We installed full insulation in both roof & walls, plus gutters, downspouts, roll-up doors and walk doors for practical access points around the structure.

Inside, the finish-out includes a full kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, and living area — complete with knotty cabinetry, rustic design elements, and durable finishes that hold up to ranch traffic, gear, and weekend groups. This setup allows the owner to come in from the blinds, clean up, cook, and relax without leaving the property.

This project is a great representation of how we can take a simple metal building concept and turn it into a functional, comfortable living space made for South Texas ranch life.
